Museum Celebrates Currie's Birthday

Museum Strathroy-Caradoc hosted a special guest speaker on Friday, December 5th to coincide with the 139th Anniversary of the birth of Strathroy native General Sir Arthur Currie.

Professor Andrew Iarocci of the History Department at Western University delivered a presentation on ‘The Many Faces of General Sir Arthur Currie’ in the programming space at the Strathroy Library and Museum site (34 Frank Street Strathroy).

Prof. Iarocci, professor, author and noted historian on the First Wold War, is the author of Shoestring Soldiers: The 1st Canadian Division at War, 1914-15 (2008, University of Toronto Press), and co-editor of Vimy Ridge: A Canadian Reassessment (2007, Wilfrid Laurier University Press). His research interests encompass twentieth-century warfare, military transportation and procurement, and more generally, the material culture of modern conflict.
